Hansard

Hansard is a written transcript of debates in Parliament. Hansard debates of Bills can be useful in determining the rationale behind a Bill.

The Scrutiny of Acts and Regulations Committee examines every Bill that is introduced into either house of Parliament. Depending on the contents of a Bill, the committee may comment or seek clarification from a minister on the provisions and report these to the parliament in a report known as an Alert Digest.
