Free tenant and civil claims workshops

The Peninsula Community Legal Centre is running a series of free workshops for tenants and consumers. 

Tenant workshops

You will find these workshops helpful if:

  • you are a tenant who will be self-representing at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT)
  • you have made an application to the VCAT residential tenancies list about a dispute with your landlord or real estate agent
  • your landlord or real estate agent has made an application to VCAT against you.

Civil claims workshops

You will find these workshops helpful if:

  • you have been unsuccessful in resolving a consumer matter with a trader or service provider
  • you are considering further action to resolve a consumer matter with a trader or service provider
  • you have made an application to VCAT about a dispute with a trader or service provider.

What will the workshops cover?

Participants at the tenant and civil claims workshops will be assisted to:

  • complete relevant documentation
  • prepare for the VCAT hearing and deal with any negotiations before the hearing
  • self-represent at the hearing
  • understand the procedures for following up VCAT decisions and enforcing VCAT orders.
