What we offer

About the program

VLA offer a total of seven positions for articled clerks:

  • four articled clerk positions based at VLA’s Melbourne office 
  • two positions for indigenous law graduates
  • one articled clerk position based at a rural regional office.

The program will commence in early March 2009 for a fixed term of up to 12 months and involves undertaking rotating placements throughout the practice divisions of VLA. You will work under the direct supervision of lawyers, and are given increasing responsibility as your understanding and competency develops.

By the end of your articles, you:

  • are fully versed in the range of legal practice areas dealt with by VLA
  • have considerable casework experience 
  • (with consent) have undertaken appearance work in courts and tribunals.
