Smoking bans in pubs and clubs – new law

Increase to smoke-free space

Law applies from: 1 July 2007

Smoking is no longer allowed in pubs and clubs.

Smoking is allowed in outdoor smoking areas if the area is not completely enclosed. At least 25 per cent of wall and roof space must be open.   

Smokers and pub owners can both be fined if someone is caught smoking.
