Freedom of information

If you would like to access documents held by Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) or want to change the personal information that we hold about you, you can do so using Freedom of Information (FOI). To request information under FOI, your request must be:

  • accompanied by a $22 application fee
  • in writing
  • clear and unambiguous.

You will not be able to access information which is considered exempt under the FOI Act.  VLA has to respond to your application within 45 days.

To change your personal information you must still apply in writing, but you do not have to pay the fee.
