Free child support legal advice appointments across Victoria

Free child support legal advice appointments across Victoria

Monday, 4 January 2016

A Victoria Legal Aid lawyer will be available at various locations across Victoria in the coming months to provide free legal help to eligible people with child support problems.

The legal advice sessions are a great opportunity for people who are facing problems or uncertainty with child support issues to talk face-to-face with a lawyer – for free and in confidence.

What we can help you with

Our child support lawyer can help with legal problems about:

  • getting or paying child support
  • paternity testing
  • changes of assessment
  • maintenance for over 18s or spousal maintenance.

Victoria Legal Aid assists in many child support cases throughout Victoria where people were unaware or unclear about their legal rights and the steps involved.

Our work is about ensuring that children of separated parents are financially supported, in accordance with the law.
