New-look letters from Assignments

New-look letters from Assignments

Monday, 28 May 2018

From 12 June 2018, our Assignments staff will be using new letter templates for correspondence with practitioners and clients about legal assistance applications and decisions.

Our letters have been redrafted and have a new layout to make them easier to read and understand. Conditions of assistance (such as a contribution or equitable charge) are highlighted at the start of the letter, and new information sheets explain in plain language our standard terms and grant conditions. They also set out more clearly how to contact our Assignments staff, use free interpreter services, as well as where to get more information.

'In response to client, practitioner and staff feedback, we have updated over 100 letter templates and rewritten more than 1500 template paragraphs.

'Assignments staff now have more options to tailor letters, to make our communications about grants decisions more helpful and accessible,' said Georgina Ko, Project Manager of the Assignments Communications Project.

Associate Director of Assignments Nella Buccheri is excited about the changes.

'I am delighted that we are improving our written communications to our clients and practitioners about grants of assistance.

'More flexibility to individualise letters will support clients to understand our grants processes, and to access more help if needed.'

Letters will still be received by practitioners via ATLAS in the usual way.

To allow for all the required upgrades to be made, ATLAS will be shut down from 9 am on Friday 8 June to midnight on Monday 11 June (Queen’s Birthday holiday). During this time, practitioners will be unable to logon to access ATLAS, and no grant applications or extensions will be able to be submitted or assessed.
