Research about young people in separated families – family law system experiences and needs

Be heard. Are you a young person aged 10–17 whose parents have recently separated. Or a parent who has recently separated, with a child aged 10-17 years. We need your help.

The Australian Institute of Family Studies is conducting research with young people about their experiences of the family law system when parents separate. Are you:

  • a young person young people aged 10–17 whose parents have recently separated?
  • a parent of who has recently separated, with a child aged 10–17? 

This research, funded by the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department, is being conducted with the cooperation of legal aid commissions, the Family Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, and a number of family relationship and mediation services.
