New Lawyers Program

New Lawyers Program: Be an advocate. Stand for something.

In 2010 VLA will launch a two-year New Lawyers Program for first and second year lawyers. The aim of this program is to provide you with comprehensive training and development within the areas of law most relevant to VLA.

In your first year you will undertake rotating placements throughout the practice divisions of VLA, including at least one placement in a regional office. In your second year you will nominate a practice area where you will gain further development and specialisation.

The New Lawyers Program is a unique opportunity to:

  • receive hands-on experience during rotating placements
  • undertake appearance work in courts and tribunals
  • work closely with expert lawyers across VLA’s practice divisions
  • interact with clients on a daily basis.
