Family violence intervention order publications

We have a new range of publications about family violence intervention orders. These are:

  • Seeing a lawyer: for affected family members (fact sheet)
  • Seeing a lawyer: for respondents (fact sheet)
  • family violence card – a business-size card for workers to give to clients, summarising key points about orders and their consequences. 

The booklets give an overview of what family violence means, how to apply for an intervention order or respond if someone has applied for an order against you, and what happens at court.

The fact sheets are for people to read while waiting to see a lawyer, before an advice session or at court. They help people understand what orders are, the process, and the role of their lawyer. These are supported by the card.

Translated material on family violence laws will also be available in the coming months.
