All private practitioner duty lawyer (PPDL) appearances are paid when a PPDL tax invoice is submitted to their allocated VLA regional office.

Please ensure that:

  • you are formally accredited to the scheme
  • the number of duty lawyer records attached to the tax invoice match the numbers noted on the tax invoice under 'duty lawyer services performed'
  • the ABN is noted on your tax invoice
  • the 'amount claimed including GST' is correct
  • you sign the tax invoice.

All incomplete and/or incorrect claims cannot be modified by VLA and will be returned to you for correction and/or completion.
