Congratulations to our Associate Director Family Violence Response Leanne Sinclair, who joined an accomplished group of public sector women when she was named one of the Top 50 Public Sector Women (Victoria) in the Emerging Leader category at the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) awards.

The awards, held virtually on 16 September, recognise outstanding women in the public sector for their leadership, inspiration and accomplishment.

Of the award, Leanne says, ‘I feel privileged to be recognised amongst such amazing women’.

‘I am lucky to work at Victoria Legal Aid and do a job that I love. I am genuinely passionate about improving the justice response to family violence and making an impact on Victorian families’.

The nomination, from Louise Glanville, Chief Executive Officer and Nicole Rich, former Victoria Legal Aid Executive Director of Family, Youth and Children’s Law, acknowledges Leanne has emerged as a leader within the family violence and justice sectors.

‘Leanne’s work has had a dramatic impact in changing culture and attitudes across the legal sector’. Nicole said.

‘She drives continuous change and improvement, enhances organisational culture and inspires and develops staff.’

‘Leanne has built warm and productive relationships across the courts, legal profession, government departments, Victoria Police and family violence services through her collaborative approach. She also recognises and promotes the good work being done by others and seeks always to build on this in the interests of clients.’

Congratulations to Leanne all the other inspiring women who were recognised.
