New lawyer and graduate law positions open

Wednesday, 7 March 2018

We invite first and second year lawyers with an interest in social justice to apply for our New Lawyers Program. We also encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander law graduates, who have completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent and are eligible to enrol in a practical legal training course, to apply for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduate Law Program.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduate Law Program

Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduate Law Program was established to improve pathways for aspiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander law students seeking a career in social justice and human rights.

This program is aimed at law graduates who are yet to complete their Practical Legal Training (PLT) and provides successful candidates with the opportunity to learn on the job while developing their practical legal skills and knowledge.

There are two positions available and to be accepted on the program, applicants must be eligible to commence their PLT as of January 2019.

New Lawyers Program

The New Lawyers Program is offered to first-year post-admission lawyers over two years.

Successful candidates will complete comprehensive induction and training while learning on the job through placements that run for up to four to six months. Throughout the program, candidates will build on their experience and skills in our offices across Victoria.

There are up to 12 positions available, including two positions for applicants who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

The program commences Monday 27 August 2018.

Apply

Applications for both programs open on Friday 9 March 2018 and close on Sunday 25 March 2018. To apply, visit the Careers page on our website.
