Help with your NDIS appeal

We may be able to provide free legal representation if you are appealing a decision of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).

The Australian Government provides Victoria Legal Aid (and other legal aid commissions) with funding to assist applicants in navigating the process of AAT review of NDIS decisions.

If you’re not happy with a decision the NDIA makes you can challenge the decision. If you have already lodged your appeal with the AAT we may be able to represent you.

We may be able to help you if:

  • the NDIA rejected your application to be a participant in the NDIS
  • you are not happy with the funding in your NDIS plan
  • you do not think you have enough funding for your disability supports and services.

To apply for legal assistance please complete the form Application for NDIS Appeals Legal Services and email it to or post to:

Grants and Quality Assurance
GPO Box 4380
Melbourne VIC 3001.

If we help you with your NDIS appeal, we will allocate you a lawyer from our Economic and Social Rights (ESR) team. The ESR team play an important role in working to protect and promote the economic and social rights and legal issues that most affect disadvantaged Victorians’ standard of living.
