Kalman has been a member of the Victoria Legal Aid chairperson panel since 2003.
Kalman has been a practicing psychologist since 1978. He has an extensive background in family law mediation, counselling, individual and family therapy.
He worked as a manager and mediator for the Dandenong and Melbourne registries of the Family Court. In addition, Kalman continues his clinical, counselling and mediation practice privately.
