Experience

Kathy joined the Victoria Legal Aid chairperson panel in March 2015. Kathy is a Koori woman from New South Wales. Her family is from Wiradjuri Country. She has over 20 years experience working in and with Aboriginal communities.

Kathy has practised in family law, criminal law, intervention order matters and Children’s Court (welfare and criminal law) proceedings since her admission in 2004 and currently runs her own family law practice.

Kathy has worked for the Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, Aboriginal Legal Service of New South Wales, Katherine Women’s Information and Legal Service, and the Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention and Legal Service Victoria as well as in private practice. She has also taught Aboriginal history and culture at the University of Wollongong.

Kathy is currently working toward a Graduate Diploma in Psychology.
