This year, the Law Institute of Victoria offered specialist accreditation in family law.

We provided a study support group for in-house lawyers, panel practitioners and community legal centre lawyers undertaking specialisation.

Of the external lawyers we assisted, three earned specialist accreditation in family law, including:

  • Ajsela Siskovic, In Touch
  • Caitlin Vaughan, Westjustice
  • Michelle Petrovski, Westminster Lawyers.

Professional Support Lawyer, Family Law, Simon Macdonald supported the lawyers with their study, and said it was an exceptional achievement.

‘Earning specialist accreditation requires hard work, commitment and dedication.

‘To achieve their success, the new specialists not only devoted hours of study after work and on weekends, but also supported each other by generously sharing their notes and knowledge.

‘We are wholly supportive of our staff and panel practitioners undertaking this commitment, as clients will inevitably gain from the enhanced skills and knowledge attained through specialist accreditation,’ said Simon.
