Legal Help Chat is provided by trained legal help officers who are not lawyers. They can give you legal information or refer you to other services. If your enquiry is understood to be more complex, we may suggest you call and speak to one of our staff. We may use and monitor the chat for training purposes or to help us improve the service. We may use the email address you provide to send you a survey about how we assisted you to help us improve the service.
We value your privacy and have a duty to keep your information confidential. We collect the minimum information needed to both help you and meet our legal obligations. When we ask you for personal information, we will tell you how we will use it. You can choose to not give us your name and contact details but this may affect how much we can help. We also collect and store your server address (IP address) which is necessary for you to access this service.
