We offer a range of benefits to ensure that employee contributions are recognised, and careers are as rewarding as possible.

Enterprise agreement and Fair Work Statement

Our Enterprise Agreement 2020–24 sets the conditions of employment for our staff. The agreement was certified by the Fair Work Commission in June 2021.

If you would like an accessible version of the agreement, please contact the People and Culture Advisory Services team on 03 9269 0234.

The Fair Work Information StatementExternal Link provides basic information on pay, conditions and other things that can affect your employment.

Professional development

We have many opportunities for professional development. They include:

  • formal learning and training programs
  • financial support for further education and study
  • on-the-job development opportunities.

Our Professional Legal Education program provides training and learning opportunities designed to equip our lawyers with the skills and expertise they need to deliver the best possible service. The program also helps lawyers keep up-to-date with legal knowledge and satisfy continuing professional development obligations required for local practising certificates.

We also help our lawyers get accreditation through the Law Institute of Victoria by covering course and application fees and providing study leave. We also run organised study groups and presentations by our in-house team of expert lawyers.

Salary packaging

Salary packaging allows you to reduce the amount of tax you pay, thereby increasing your net salary and helping staff make the most of their income.

You can nominate to package up to $15,899 per year for general expenses such as your mortgage, rent, credit card, or even phone and electricity bill. An additional amount can be salary packaged for other expenses, such as meals, entertainment and accommodation.

Your circumstances will determine whether salary packaging will be a benefit to you. For more information, visit the website of our provider RemuneratorExternal Link .

Flexible work arrangements and family-friendly policies

We recognise the need to balance your work and personal life, and our policies reflect this. We offer attractive employment conditions, including flexible working arrangements with a range of family-friendly policies.

For example, you may be able to purchase additional annual leave, work flexible hours, job share and do some work from home. We also offer paid parental leave.

Employee Assistance Program

We offer an external Employee Assistance Program providing short-term counselling and support for you and your immediate family members. This service is easily accessible, voluntary and can provide support for many personal and work-related issues.

Commuter Club

The Commuter Club is an opportunity for you to purchase a yearly public transport card (myki), saving 10 per cent off the cost of a yearly ticket.

Other benefits

Some of our other employee benefits include:

  • paid study leave and fee reimbursement if your course meets specific requirements
  • discounted health insurance
  • subsidised eyewear
  • free flu vaccination
  • recognition of prior service that meets specific criteria.
